Check your smoke detectors

I was pleased to see the article in the Pioneer about daylight savings time and making sure to check your smoke alarms. The Spearfish Fire Department has an ongoing program to check, install or replace smoke detectors and change the batteries, at no cost to the homeowner. All people need to do is call the Spearfish Fire Department at 642-1313 and make an appointment for Fire Corps volunteers to come check their homes. Other local Fire Departments may have similar programs.
