Penelope Ann Salway (Quinones), 46

Penelope Ann Salway (Quinones), 46, was born on Feb. 2, 1973, in Pine Ridge, S.D., to Ashton A. Salway and Lenora (Smith) Salway. Penelope made her journey to the Spirit World on Aug. 11, 2019, in Spearfish.

Penelope lived in Martin, S.D., until 1985, when her family moved to Sturgis. The family then moved to Scottsbluff, Neb., for a period of time, and then in 1998, they moved back to the Black Hills.

In 2006, Penelope married John Quinones in Sturgis. Life was hard for her, but she lived her life to the fullest. She was kind to a fault, but she was loved by so many. Penelope will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Penelope is survived by her mother, Lenora (Smith) Salway; sons, Nathan Salway (Shayla Engelhaupt) and Joseph Edward Johnson; granddaughter, Raylynn Ann Salway; grandson, Nahoa Johnson; daughters, Karmen Camron Abila and Alexis Ruby Fay; brother, Jorge Flores; aunt, Debbie Flores; and numerous nieces,

nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Penelope was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sarah Swallow-Stover (Smith); uncles, Raymond Smith, Jerry Smith, and Jorge Flores, Sr.; and aunt, Sherry Peck.

Pallbearers will be: Derrick Lehto, Barry Bettelyoun, Aaron Bettelyoun, Jorge Flores, Nathan Salway, and Joseph Johnson. Alternate: Dalton Bettelyoun.

Wake Services: One night wake service starting from 5-9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at the American Legion in Martin, S.D. 

Funeral Services: 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at the American Legion in Martin, S.D.

Officiating: The Reverend Harold Eagle Bull 

Graveside Services: Bennett County Community Cemetery, Martin, S.D.

Arrangements entrusted with Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, S.D.
