Sasquatch game cut short

Spearfish Sasquatch team member Jake Gray, fourth from right, is greeted by teammates after hitting a second-inning, bases-loaded home run on Sunday.

SPEARFISH — Heavy rains reduced Sunday's Expedition League baseball game between the Spearfish Sasquatch and Hub City Hotshots to 2 1/2 innings.

The Sasquatch led 5-0 when play stopped. Jake Gray hit a grand-slam home run for Spearfish to highlight a five-run second inning.

Spearfish coach Seth McLemore said a decision on the rest of this contest would be made at a later time.

The Sasquatch is scheduled to host the Pierre Trappers in a three-game series starting Tuesday at Black Hills Energy Stadium. First pitch for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday is set for 6:35 p.m.
