Sasquatch finishes 1-2 in Wheat City

BRANDON, Manitoba — The Spearfish Sasquatch finished 1-2 during a weekend Expedition League baseball series against the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks. It marked Spearfish's first road games of the season.


Wheat City Whiskey Jacks 11, Spearfish Sasquatch 2: Wheat City scored five runs in the sixth inning to snap a 2-2 tie. 

Jake Gray scored one run and added one hit for Spearfish. Dillon Holiday took the pitching loss.

Jayce Bailey turned in a three-run, two-hit effort to pace Wheat City. 


Spearfish Sasquatch 3, Wheat City Whiskey Jacks 0: Joe Lewis and Dylan High combined for the two-hit shutout.

The Sasquatch plated single runs in the third, fourth, and ninth innings to complement a 10-hit attack.

Joe Yorke, Trace Hamby, and Zane Hunt each scored a run and added a hit for Spearfish. Lewis earned the pitching win.

Chase Meilleur took the pitching loss for Wheat City. Keegan Sueltz and Lucas Allen recorded the Whiskey Jacksí hits.


Wheat City Whiskey Jacks 7, Spearfish Sasquatch 6, 11 innings: Wheat City scored two runs in the bottom of the 11th inning to record the win.

Trace Hamby scored in the top of the 11th as the Sasquatch claimed a 6-5 advantage.

Joe Yorke had two runs and one hit for Spearfish. Thomas Davenport took the pitching loss.

Mitch Lyall claimed the pitching win for Wheat City. Jayden Kay scored three runs and added two hits.

Spearfish (4-3) will visit Aberdeen to play the Hub City Hotshots at 5:35 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

The Sasquatch will return home this Wednesday to start a two-game homestand against the Western Nebraska Pioneers. Both games are scheduled to begin at 6:35 p.m.
