DEADWOOD — The Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers football team got off to a slow start and lost to the Upton/Sundance  Patriots, 31-8, Friday night, in Deadwood.

“I thought we played at a very high level. We were just out matched. I thought we limited mistakes, and at the end of the day, I was pretty proud of how our guys played,” said Tom Tieszen, the Golddiggers head football coach.
