Deadwood hosts Steer Roping events

DEADWOOD — PRCA steer ropers gathered in Deadwood for Monday’s Stand Alone and Legacy Steer Roping events.

Corey Ross of Liberty Hill, Texas, won the first go-round of Stand Alone Steer Roping in 12.2 seconds. Pratt, Kan., steer roper Rocky Patterson won the second go-round in 10.9 seconds.

In Legacy Steer Roping, Ross claimed the first go-round title in 12.2 seconds. A 10.9-second clocking allowed Patterson to win the second go-round.
