Suspect sought after Monday burglary in Spearfish

The Spearfish Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred early Monday morning at RMS Jewelers on Main Street in downtown Spearfish. Lt. Boyd Dean explained that around 7 a.m., a suspect forced open a door into the business. The type and value of jewelry stolen was undisclosed, and a nearby camera picked up images of a male suspect approaching and leaving the business. One image shows the male wearing an oversized suit coat, which likely concealed the duffel bag visible in another photo that the suspect used to transport the stolen items. The images are posted on the Spearfish Police Department’s Facebook page, and anyone with information regarding the incident or individual are asked to contact Detective Jason De Neui at 642-1300.
