SPEARFISH — The Spearfish High School Class of 1964 held their 55th reunion in Spearfish this past weekend, beginning with a reception at Club Nevada Friday evening. Saturday morning the group gathered at the home of Catherine Polley where Paul Higbee, local historian, began a review of happenings local and national in the 1963-64 time frame. This was followed by a tour of the town with Jim Haeder driving the van. Higbee continued with information of businesses that existed during that time frame, this included a visit to the former high school now used as a kindergarten.
Persons on the tour joined in with memories of drive-ins, stores and Friday night dances at the pavilion.
The reunion continued with a banquet Saturday evening and concluded with a Sunday. morning brunch at the Polley home. Sixteen members of the class are deceased. Thirty class members and many spouses attended the event.
