LEAD — There’s currently a vacant seat on the Lead-Deadwood School Board, as the resignation of board member Bob Nelson, Jr. was accepted at the Oct. 8 board meeting.
“We have had the opportunity to fill a couple spots in the last year and if it’s ok with you, I will get together with Suzanne (Rogers, board president) and go to the folder of qualified applicants and then present them to Suzanne and then she can have conversations with you individually about who she would like to propose. And then we’ll hopefully have somebody seated by the next meeting,” said School District Superintendent Dr. Dan Leikvold.
Nelson was appointed to the Board of Education in January of 2017 to replace Julie Gardner, who resigned in December 2016.
He served the school district nearly three years.
