SPEARFISH – The Millstone Family Restaurant in Spearfish is getting a facelift to help keep up with the changes being made to the aesthetics of the Jackson Boulevard Project.
“Spearfish is changing, and we kind of wanted to be a part of that,” said Brandy Rosenau, general manager of the restaurant.
Rosenau said the entire outside of the building has been redone, with some minor updates on the inside. The centerpiece to the renovation is the front entrance, which has been expanded for added comfort.
“So, our front entrance is much bigger and much more welcoming,” Rosenau said. “Because Exit 12 is going to be the main entrance into Spearfish, we thought we should jazz it up a bit.”
Rosenau said the remodel began in September, and she hopes to have everything wrapped up by Thanksgiving. The restaurant remained open throughout the construction.
“There’s been a couple days when it’s been a little loud on one side or the other because they’re pounding or removing brick,” Rosenau said. “But the customers have really enjoyed watching the progress as well.”
Exterior improvements aren’t all that will be coming to the community staple, however. Rosenau teased some tasty menu renovations may be on the horizon as well.
”Stay tuned, because there might be some really cool changes to the menu coming up,” she said. “Especially for breakfast lovers.”
