BELLE FOURCHE –– With budget planning fast approaching, Belle Fourche will soon consider doubling the amount of disc golf holes at the Center of the Nation Disc Golf Course. The course currently consists of nine holes along the Belle Fourche River Walk near the Tri-State Museum and Visitor Center on the north end of Belle Fourche.

Mayor Gloria Landphere said Monday that by developing the course into an 18-hole course, “This could be sanctioned by the association (Professional Disc Golf Association), and could bring tournament here.”

She advised the council further discussions on the topic would evolve throughout the budget planning process in the coming weeks.
