8-10 Club awards scholarships to high schoolers

The Whitewood 8-10 Community Club awarded $1,000 scholarships to Matea Gordon and Hannah Aston at Monday’s city council meeting. Scholarships go to Sturgis Brown High School seniors with Whitewood mailing addresses, and each applicant needed to complete an essay. Gordon plans to attend South Dakota State University and study to develop agricultural markets. Aston will attend the University of Wyoming, where she has been accepted into its pharmacy program.
