STURGIS — The Sturgis Optimists annual Christmas toy drive received a $1,000 donation to kick off the drive from Brice Rock, Sturgis Pioneer Bank and Trust senior vice president and branch manager. Rock presented the ceremonial check last week as a kick off to the 2019 toy campaign.

“Pioneer Bank and Trust is proud to support this event that supports the youth in our community,” said Rock. This year’s toy drive started last week and will continue until the give away dates of Dec. 18 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the old Massa Berry Clinic. The Optimist’s toy drive is chaired by Jerrid Goebel and shared that toys can be dropped off at Campbells, Sturgis  Community Center, Sturgis Chiropractic, Liberty Motors, Flex Fitness, Twisted Canyon Cross Fit, Pioneer Bank, Northern Hills Federal Credit Union, Northern Hills Gymnastics, and Sturgis Regional Cinic.

“We really appreciate the donation as this program provides gifts for over 250 kids from the ages of newborn to 18 years old. This toy program which has been in place for over 50 years in Sturgis, wouldn’t be possible without the great community support that we receive,” said Goebel.

If you know of a family in need, please call Jerrid Goebel at (605) 347-4003 at Sturgis Chiropractic.
