Funds raised during the Oct. 17 Empty Bowls event were recently distributed to area food banks. “Empty Bowls” is a soup kitchen-type project where local artists, along with Lead-Deadwood and Spearfish high school student as well as students from Black Hills State University, donated pottery bowls. Participants at the event buy a bowl for $10 and fill them with soup donated by the Deadwood Social Club. All funds raised go to the local food banks.
