Fire truck catches fire

Spearfish Fire Department out one engine after truck catches fire while responding to a recent call

SPEARFISH — While suppressing a fire on Aug. 10 at the Sleep Ranch off of Exit 2 in Spearfish, the Spearfish Fire Department noticed a lot of smoke coming from Engine 12.

“During fire suppression efforts, we caught one of our engines on fire,” said Spearfish Fire Chief Wallace White. “We're not sure how much the damage is.”

When the fire department noticed the smoke coming from Engine 12, they shut it down and used a Forest Service engine that was on the scene.
