Legends Ride raises $54,000 for BH Special Olympics, Sturgis Motorcycle Museum

DEADWOOD — The charitable impact of the annual Legends Ride continues to be felt long after the roar of the 2011 Sturgis Rally has subsided. Legends Ride organizers announced that nearly than $54,000 was raised in 2011 for local charities.

The Legends Ride, which kicks off the Sturgis Rally on a ride from Historic Deadwood to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip Campground. Now in its fourth year, the Legends Ride has raised $204,920 for charity; $53,850 of which came in 2011. This year's Legends Ride beneficiaries are the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame and the Black Hills Special Olympics.
